1964 film by Jean-Luc Godard about a group of incompetent would-be robbers.
Use the dance scene in the cafe to explore sound in film. The beginning of the scene (where they are speaking to each other, before they start dancing) is notable – one character says ‘let’s have a minute’s silence’ and there is actually complete silence for nearly a minute. When they start dancing the soundtrack plays with diegetic and non-diegetic sound, dropping out the music they are dancing to and adding voiceover describing the characters’ thoughts.
